After many weeks of research, planning, developing, creating and hard work we, the Year 6 students, were finally ready for the culmination of our ‘Business Adventure’ Social Studies unit.
On February 4th each group ran a stall at the Chai Wan Chinese New Year night market. Our aim was to raise as much money for our partner school in Yangshuo, China to help them make repairs to the entrance of their school. When it rains they have to wade through half a metre of water to get to school at the moment! We sold a variety of products including cakes, biscuits, candy, stationary and much more. We also ran some amazing games and competitions. At the end of the unit of inquiry we have raised a whopping $10,700 for the much need work to be completed on our partner school in China. A further $1000 has also been raised through the talent competition some of our students has ran. We would like to add a thank you to all the maintenance staff who helped set up the night and add a special thank you to Mr. Guise, Mr. Cameron, Miss Weir and all our parents who helped us with our massively successful project.
