![]() Last week, the Primary 5 and Primary 6 students went to the Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground for their Athletics Meets. The Primary 5 and CM1 students went on Tuesday, 17th March and the Primary 6 and CM2 students went on Thursday, 19th March. This year, there were two new events for both year groups: The 1200 metre race and the Discus throw. Both of the athletics meets were held under clear skies and everyone had an amazing time running long distance races and competing against the other girls and boys in the school in different types of athletics events. It was a fantastic day!

![]() The French International School Kellet 10’s On March 17th, boys from the French International School had a rugby tournament against the Kellet 10’s Kowloon bay team. Since the sun was shining bright and the weather was great the Kings Park was a great place to have the tournament. The players all played 6 matches; however team A won all 6 of them but team B won 3. Rugby is a tough but fair sport. ![]() The great coach of the rugby team was Mr. Cameron, he had been training the team for the last 5-6 weeks and the team has also had many more tournaments to get prepared. Of course there are always things the players need to work on, Louis Campion one of the many players in A team said he could improve his rucking and tackling. Many more players such as Monty Davies, Tommy Avery has said they can improve spreading out and getting back in position. Monty Davies enjoyed the tournament so much that on a scale of 1 to 10, he rated it 10! All of these young rugby players all have a passion to one day be international players all around the world. Monty Davies said “I would like to grow up and become a rugby player in the Wallabies team!” Tommy Avery reported “If I have the chance I would like to play in the All Blacks team.” All of these talented young rugby players could all one day be worldwide famous players and score tries for a living. Matt Dickinson is a writer and film maker. As a film maker he has worked for National Geographic Television, the Discovery Channel and the BBC and is one of the very few director/cameramen who have ever filmed on the summit of Mount Everest. He has written Mortal Chaos, Death Zone, High Risk and Black Ice. The best of his books is Black Ice. Black Ice is about a scientist Lauren Burgess who has made a fascinating discovery which could change the face of human knowledge, as well as rescuing two stranded men in Antarctica.
He came to the French International School last Thursday to talk about his expeditions and show clips of what he filmed in places such as Mount Everest, Mount Williams, Antarctica and The Summit. He also gave us advice for writing and directing films. We also asked questions that were to interest of us. After a hard day of whipping tennis rackets in the air, F.I.S thrashed the Discovery Bay International School on the eleventh of March, 2015. The two best players on the court, Malhar Rajpal and Sacha Rosenberg, won all the matches that they played in and basically had truckloads of fun. After preparing with lots of practice for the event, they managed to give D.B.I.S a piece of their mind. Rajpal even broke a few strings on his racket, for heaven’s sake! Even though they could have served more cleanly or had better footwork, they gave a good name for our school and, most importantly, had the best fun.
“I believe I am strong when it comes to tennis. After all, practice makes perfect!” Rosenberg said. “I think I am good at tennis. I am better than the majority of people my age who play this amazing sport” Rajpal smirked. |
