![]() Mr Chadwick and the international Primary staff at Jardine’s Lookout, received a delegation of teachers from Rosebud International School who were interested to learn about the teaching of Literacy. The delegation watched sample lessons conducted by Mr Plaw and Ms Cooper. They also chatted to Mr Finch our former Literacy coordinator who was able to advise and up date them about our recent developments in English. They then met up with Mr Phillips who talked to them about reading assessments and guided reading. The day was rounded off with the exchange of gifts Thank you for the kindness and generosity of the children in RCA and also some of the International Primary staff who donated items of stationery for Mrs. Finch to deliver to a school in Bhutan in the May holidays.
I would like to share with you all our happiness about Charlene's accomplishment on golf over the past one year. Charlene has recently been awarded as the Winner of the 2015 HSBC Junior Order of Merit (age division girls 9-10), which is counted by the accumulated point system over 5 major junior golf tournaments in Hong Kong. The attached second photo with Charlene holding the name printed silver plate was taken at the prize presentation ceremony at Clearwater Bay with the HKGA Manager of the Junior and International Development.
Another important trophy Charlene achieved was; the Champion at the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship 2016 (Hong Kong Qualifier)-age division girls 11 (see attached the first photo). With such qualification, Charlene is entitled to play with all the qualifiers around the world at Pinehurst, North Carolina, in early August, a junior tournament where she has to play 3 rounds of 18 holes each day. Wow what an achievement way to go Charlene - Mr Chadwick, Head of the International Primary Section On Wed 20th April, two teams from CE2/Yr4 attended the IMS U9s football tournament in Happy Valley. The French and International students played together in mixed teams. Without any training together, they bonded really well as teams.
The Premiership team played 5 games and won 4 of them convincingly. They were narrowly beaten to 1st place by the Norwegian School who played very well and won all their games. Well done to Anatole, Salvador, Basil, Kristy, Cody, Lucas Chu and Lucas Bardin. In the Championship, FIS won all of their games and got through to the finals. They won this competition and received a trophy which will go on display at school for all to see. Well done to Racim, Kristan, Mark, Martin, Paul, Leon and Alister. A special mention goes to Anatole and Racim who received MVP awards for their teams! M. Chadwick The students in Y1B enjoyed learning about Paul Klee as part of this year’s art exhibition. They worked with a variety of media to produce various pieces of art inspired by Paul Klee. He was fascinated by the way lines can create patterns to make pictures. Klee loved to use intense colours inspired by a trip to Tunisia in North Africa too.
The birth of his son, Felix provided him with a unique opportunity to discover and share in the joy of art from the child’s perspective. He loved the innocence and simplicity of this art. At the art exhibition, we also included a display of our Arctic dioramas, with a selection of Arctic animals and the Aurora Borealis. Mrs Ki and Mrs Rushton- Year 1 teachers |
