Over the last couple of weeks the International Section at the JL campus have been working on their GAW projects. Each class chose a country to do a mini study on. Activities ranged from art, storytelling, creating power point presentations and having a festival of food were some of the aspects covered. We also held a Where’s Wally (Mr Chadwick) competition throughout the week. Some classes have given an insight into what they did.
The Reception classes had a wonderful week learning all about the 'Land of fire and ice'...ICELAND! We enjoyed dressing up as volcanoes and icebergs and performing a dance by Icelandic pop princess Bjork to the rest of the International Section. Our parents made some special treats for us to enjoy...volcano cupcakes, iceberg marshmallows...yum. What a fantastic week! Alison L.M Finch RCA Primary Teacher In Y3, the children researched a variety of Canadian topics in small groups such as Canadian Economy and Money. This week they have been sharing their findings to the class, and the children have been assessing their peers on these presentations. Yovanka Metz. Y4 were studying Australia. The children where in groups creating a PowerPoint presentation about aspects of Australia, ranging from the geography of the country to sports they play. They have also been working on creating Aboriginal art. To finish off the week the children brought in food that is is common in Australia to try. Favourites included Fairy bread and Anzac biscuits.
