Participation in the Children's Book Award “ Le prix des Incorruptibles” for Year 5 French speakers :
Throughout the year, students have read and worked enthusiastically on five books from the selection. In May , they voted in the classroom and elected the book " La Louve " (The Wolf) written by Clemence Beauvais and illustrated by Antoine Deprez . This same book was also chosen by the majority of CE2 / CM1 (Y4 / Y5) classes participating around the world and therefore won the 2016 Prix des Incorruptibles. It's a story about friendship , magic and mystery which appealed to the children. Finally Year 5 pupils were proud to receive in class their certificate for participating this year’s book award . Participation to the “ Prix Azimut” for French speakers in Year 6 : By taking part in this award , our students have addressed the question of art through reading five novels. This hard work has allowed a written exchange with the year 7 in the secondary section. Indeed, the two classes have created and shared in turns reading quizzes . In addition, they met storyteller Muriel Bloch , author of one of the 5 books during her visit to the school, when the children had the opportunity to ask questions in French. Finally, the presentation to the class by Mrs. Dam, a student’s mother who studied at the Ecole du Louvre, enlightened the children on rock art ( theme addressed by the Azimut Prize) https://drive.google.com / file / d / 0B5B5ui7zt0PeazBaMXViS3lCOU0 / view ? usp = drive_web (link to her presentation in French)
