![]() The end of the term is fast approaching and there are a number of school events for you to remember. The list of dates is produced in this newsletter. I hope you enjoyed the School’s Christmas Fair last Saturday and many thanks to everyone for coming along and helping create a wonderful festive, community atmosphere. Our thanks to the amazing committee. The teachers and I would just like to say. What a wonderful Christmas fair team. A Special thank you to our wonderful FAIR TEAM; Thank you so much for all your ; enthusiasm, energy, organisation and creativity! This Xmas fair was such a success; the atmosphere was great and everyone enjoyed the wonderful decorations and activities. Elton John may have been performing in town at the Hong Kong Exhibition Centre, however, the best show in town this week was surely our Christmas carol concert at St John’s Cathedral. This event has always been an incredible showcase for our music teacher’s creativity and for school spirit combined. The concert was a superb example of what FIS is all about. Children from across the age ranges Y5/6/8 performed to a very high standard which brought smiles to the faces of all who were fortunate to hear them sing and perform. All the students from Y5/6/8 did the school proud; they sounded absolutely beautiful. So congratulations Ronald and his team of support staff; also thanks to the teachers with all the lead up preparations too and Fredric technical assistant . The show was outstanding and it’s been a real joy to see the creative talents and dedication of the children shining through. Next week Monday 14th is the youngest children’s Christmas carol concert; songs and carols from across the ages followed on Wednesday by the Y1 show.Next week we also have our class Christmas parties and the very special Y5 GATHERING OF THE GREATS on Wednesday evening and then on Thursday the Maths market day . All these productions are collaborative efforts between staff and parents. It’s truly wonderful thank you. It’s simply amazing to see what our students can accomplish with the support of wonderful and inspirational teachers and supportive families . A lovely example of the school’s core values of; care, kindness, thinking of others and responsibility in action has been shown by the Students in raising money for the Sunbeam Charity through various challenges. What an effort and what enthusiasm they all showed Term 2 ; will see another Student teacher currently training to be a teacher. She will be working with Y6 B Mr Guise who will also act as her mentor. The students and teachers benefit enormously from their growing expertise in education as they do their training and we support them in this undertaking. We are supporting her this year is by providing the opportunity to work with more than one teacher and spending time in other classes at our school for the work experience.
