Last week, Mr. Burt brought a group of 9 students - including myself - to the ISTA (International Schools Theatre Association) festival hosted by Harrow International School. We had about 20 teachers/instructors on site travelling from all over the world and around 130 students participating from schools all around Hong Kong, Thailand, Korea and Turkey!
The first day was all about introducing everyone to ISTA; separating into ensembles (groups), meeting and familiarising with all the new, friendly faces and being introduced to this year's theme: nature. It included a hike to a reservoir, and a disco to conclude the orientation day. The second day, consisted primarily of workshops, then ensembles worked on their final performance to be performed at the end of ISTA on the third day. Overall, my friends and I found the experience fantastic (as always!) It's amazing to be at an event with such diversity regarding the people attending, that all have harmoniously aligned passions for performing arts and theatre. The people you meet, the knowledge and experience you gain and the memories you make, always make the festival go by too quickly.
