The Mid-Autumn Festival is the second most important festival to Chinese people after the Spring Festival. The festival is also known as the "Day of Reunion" and the "Moon Festival".
As a cultural emersion, the Year 7 students did a project to celebrate the festival. The project is divided into two parts: first, the students watched a video about the legend of the festival, then they made a flap book. The focus of the project was to show the students’ language proficiency at different levels. The advanced students wrote the names of the school subjects that they take, while the standard students wrote characters like moon, sun, goat, mountain and people, etc. The project provided the students an opportunity to practise their writing skills in a fun and interesting way.
