![]() Room to Read is a global organization seeking to transform the lives of millions of children in Asia and Africa through a focus on literacy and gender equality in education. Founded on the belief that World Change Starts with Educated Children, Room to Read works in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations and governments to develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children and to ensure girls have the skills and support needed to complete their secondary education. Since 2000, Room to Read has impacted the lives of more than nine million children by providing increased access to high-quality educational opportunities through its network of libraries and schools, local language children’s books and its girls’ education program. Room to Read is changing children’s lives in Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Laos, Nepal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Vietnam and Zambia and aims to reach 10 million children by 2015. On that day, the international section students will be able to realise (maybe for their first time) what luck they have to able to read and write. Our target for this day is to sensibilise people and tell them about literacy, what it is and how important it is in our society today. The Wall of Literacy is a white wall where you will be able to enjoy writing, what you would write if you never wrote anything before etc. The posters, images and presentations are there to make them feel the issue. The Do Not Read This campaign is about the same thing. Can you live a day without reading? No. Not even a minute ! On the 16th: to be announced! Join our global movement to educate more than 10 million children in Asia and Africa by 2015! Our FIS wide target: 100 000.oo HK$ Have you ever tried? No?
